Avoided crossings (ACs) are hallmark signatures of mode interaction in quantum and wave systems. Open microcavities whose resonances are naturally described as quasi-normal modes (QNMs) with complex eigenfrequencies offer a convenient platform to observe how openness and loss reorganize modal structure.
