Convex bodies of constant width with exponential illumination number
We show that there exist convex bodies of constant width in $\mathbb{E}^n$ with illumination number at least $(\cos(π/14)+o(1))^{-n}$, answering a question by G. Kalai. Furthermore, we prove the existence of finite sets of diameter $1$ in $\mathbb{E}^n$ which cannot be covered by $(2/\sqrt{3}+o(1))^{n}$ balls of diameter $1$, improving a result by J. Bourgain and J. Lindenstrauss.

Simple $p$-adic Lie groups with abelian Lie algebras
For each prime $p$ and each positive integer $d$, we construct the first examples of second countable, topologically simple, $p$-adic Lie groups of dimension $d$ whose Lie algebras are abelian. This answers several questions of Glöckner and Caprace-Monod. The proof relies on a generalization of small cancellation methods that applies to central extensions of acylindrically hyperbolic groups.

Solvable and non-solvable finite groups of the same order type
We construct two finite groups of size $2^{365}\cdot 3^{105}\cdot 7^{104}$: a solvable group $G$ and a non-solvable group $H$, such that for every integer $n$ the groups have the same number of elements of order $n$. This answers a question posed in 1987 by John G. Thompson.
