Falsch. Canonicals sind Hinweise, keine Befehle. Google kann sie ignorieren.
Besonders wenn der Canonical auf URL A zeigt, aber der Inhalt auf URL B besser passt, macht Google sein eigenes Ding.
Und wenn man aus Versehen alle Seiten auf die Startseite canonicalisiert (upsi), sagt man Google: "Nur die Startseite ist wichtig. Den Rest kannst du vergessen."

Canonicals sind Hinweise, keine Befehle. Google kann sie komplett ignorieren. Und das passiert öfter als man denkt.
Klassiker: Jemand setzt alle Seiten auf die Startseite als Canonical. Ergebnis? Google denkt, nur die Startseite zählt. Der Rest wird deindexiert. Leise, ohne Fehlermeldung.
Vertrauen ist gut, Kontrolle per GSC ist besser. Unter "Seiten" zeigt Google, welche Canonicals es akzeptiert hat…
