made a shakshouka-ish thing (i added bacon to the usual onion/pepper/tomato/garlic/spices/egg)
very yummy but cooking for multiple people in one pan is a bit of a challenge (i should get a very wide flat pan)
might do a more menemen-ish version next time (stir the eggs in instead of trying to poach them in the tomatoey mixture) because it was hard to cook them evenly

I initially bought the thermal camera to identify insulation issues during winter, now I'm hunting for heat bridges and appliances that produce too much warmth.
Fridge heats up the whole wall, AC sucks in air through the extractor hood exhaust, the dishwasher distributes heat evenly and the surround receiver is 40°C hot while in standby.

Black and white thermal image. White area on the wall and the ceiling with a red indicator that the area is 33 °C. Blue indicator at the front of the fridge shows 26 °C.
Area around the extractor hood exhaust says 31.6 °C, while the coldest point in the area is 27.8 °C.
Front of dishwasher is 30.8 to 31.6 °C. A wet rag hanging on a cabinet is 24.7 °C.
Surround receiver shows 37.6 °C through the mesh on top.

sketch: nobody can correctly predict how long they will live. any "rational" individual retirement planning has to over-estimate lifespan, which means these people die with excess money that mostly becomes inheritance, nouveau nobility. this inefficiency leads to a lot of predation on the "rational" elderly before they die. the funds sitting in "investments" theoretically help overall economic growth, but it's not evenly distributed, 5% yield on $10 is meaningless. 5% on $1b destroys worlds

Billionaire Elon Musk likely broke the law when he handed out $1 million checks to voters just days before Wisconsin’s Supreme Court election,
a state election board found.
The Wisconsin Elections Commission, currently split evenly between Democrats and Republicans,
voted 5-1 in a closed session last week to refer the complaints to the Brown County district attorney’s office,
the commission's spokesperson Emilee Miklas told the Associated Press.
The panel r…

Your behaviors on each individual social media platform begin to bleed into the others. At first you type your old friend's IG handle into the Youtube search bar. Then your fingers reflexively jump 2 where a button would be if this shyt was TikTok. Soon you reference a word created yesterday on LinkedIn.
One day, u break and become the omniuser. the first mf to perfectly fully evenly mentally synthesize every ui together as one within the bowels of your subconscious. You are cyron…

The public has swung decidedly against data centers in a matter of months, and tech companies are freaking out about it.
According to a recent survey by Heatmap Pro,
71% of Americans would oppose a data center project built near their homes,
including 55% that would “strongly” oppose.
It’s a stark contrast from just nine months ago, when Heatmap first conducted the survey and found that
Americans were evenly split on the subject, with 43% saying they would suppor…

In the last 35 years, Democrats have won the presidency five times to the Republicans’ four,
a number that includes the two times (George W. Bush in 2000 and Donald Trump in 2016) the party lost the popular vote but won the anachronistic Electoral College.
Coupled with the fact that control of Congress has been evenly split,
it’s not as though the GOP has had their fingers on the American pulse this whole time.
Instead, they have built a massive partisan media infras…

Lisa Demuth, the Republican speaker of the Minnesota House of Representatives,
secured the Republican nomination for governor,
-- edging out pillow salesman Mike Lindell, who had received Trump’s endorsement in the race.
Demuth became speaker last year in an evenly divided House, becoming the first Black person in the role.
