Claude Sonnet 4.0 describes the image as: "This image shows a scene set aboard a futuristic spacecraft, with the characteristic sleek, technological interior design featuring metallic surfaces and angular lighting elements typical of science fiction television from this era. The setting appears to be part of the ship's main areas, with the distinctive architectural elements and color scheme that creates an advanced, sterile atmosphere. The lighting and set design emphasize the high-tech environ…

HyperCard was magnificent. Still is.
The HyperTalk language was cool — but even cooler IMO was the way the dev environment mixed code with direct manipulation of the UI. There are lots of problems with that approach for generalized Ui development, yes, but the experience of it was magical.
Unity and the like have a similar editor structure — edit UI objects, attach code to them — but the feeling is totally different somehow.

In case anyone here has connections with the Python team: can you please tell them to update their docs on XML security? The way it is is quite misleading, and it's been annoying me for a while. I raised this a while ago in their issue tracker, but it got no reaction whatsoever. github.com/python/cpython/issu

Crikey, just (finally) nailed the 'family photo gallery in a frame' functionality for my mum (with failing memory, in an assisted living situation) across the world. Can control it from here in Aotearoa (via screen share or ssh) with the extraordinarily handy 'RaspberryPi Connect' functionality. The key technologies are:
- Firefox (in kiosk mode),

Claude Sonnet 4.0 describes the image as: "I can see this appears to be from a science fiction television series, showing two people in what looks like a futuristic or institutional setting with white tiled walls and ceiling. One person has very short dark hair and is wearing what appears to be a white garment with a pearl necklace, while the other person is shown from behind wearing dark clothing. The lighting and production style suggests this is from a British television production, likely f…
