Regarding my “Islands & Continents” map¹ that I posted last February 2025, I double-checked and I actually missed Taiwan which I first visited on a transit stop at TPE airport in 2012. Oops.
So here’s an updated map correcting this oversight.

This looks like an interesting take on the whole “AI" (IMHO its not AI and its not leading directly to AGI).
I've only watched this preview but it looks like it covers things from many points of view. The creator of the film

Ischia is Burning: The Novel I Have Been Writing for Thirty-Six Years
Most books are written. A few are excavated. Ischia is Burning is a book I excavated from a steel filing cabinet in a Manhattan apartment, where it had been sitting for more than three decades inside a folder marked Ischia, in the form of a screenplay I wrote at twenty-five years old in the second year of an MFA program at Columbia.

It's not simply that the Anarchist Library has some shitty stuff in it, though that's important too. It's that failing to take intersectional feminist critiques seriously will make us miss critical opportunities to critique and ultimately undermine this system.
We should not be missing this, because failing to miss this critique at this time *is missing our opportunity in this moment.*

Its good to have many tests in your R package, but it can be a pain to debug some failing tests when it happens. {lazytest} for the rescue: only rerun the failing tests, until they pass: #RStats

Me: "Why did you write this in the manual:
Press Ctrl Alt Del, Start Taskmanager
You could have just written "Press Ctrl Alt Esc"
Them: "People of a certain age are more familiar with Ctrl Alt Del"
Me: "The people you are thinking of remember that as the key to restart the computer!"

Brian Morales, a U.S. citizen,
has been deported to Mexico despite telling arresting officers that he had proof of citizenship at home, according to a new report.
According to Univision’s Lidia Terrazas, 25-year-old Denver-born Brian Morales was threatened with either deportation or prison time following a traffic stop in Texas by Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) agents.
This is the latest in a string of incidents involving U.S. citizens and Department of Homeland Security …

One fascinating film trivia I learned recently is that Sofia Coppola and Spike Jonze’s marriage from 1999 to 2003 partially inspired Coppola’s 2003 film Lost In Translation and Jonze’s 2013 film Her.
Coincidentally, both films star Scarlett Johansson as the main female protagonist, both films were nominated for the Oscar Best Picture, and both films won the Oscar Best Original Screenplay for Coppola and Jonze.
