I may be able to get a similar engine for the mower for €100-150 if the guy at the mower shop can actually get it off the machine it is currently on in an amount of time congruent with its value. Failing that, we're looking at €800-1200 for a new unit to fix a mower I paid €1400 for. Brutal.
Ireland is a small, isolated market. You really feel it when trying to get anything that isn't the most bog-standard commodity product.
