Calling ICE or DHS a “law enforcement” organization is a joke.
They made no attempt to follow the law while there.
They were given permission to break the law, not follow it.
That has been their training,
and they have been following their training.
So if we pass new law why do we think they will follow it?
A long time ago, when I was still going to school, I often thought about some class or other: "What's the point of this? I'm just wasting time on stuff I won't ever need. And my grades are going down because of it." So I supported all these bright ideas like having schools work the curriculum out with the industry.
Nowadays, I know better. The purpose of school is not to produce ready-made employees. It's to give people a wider perspective. Perhaps they won't use most of what they learn there, perhaps they'll have bad memories of some classes, but that doesn't really matter. What does matter is that you learn how to learn, how to reason, how to think.
I hate what's been happening to schools lately. They are becoming conveyor belts: we throw children on them, throw specific knowledge at them and see what sticks, we do exams and classify them. We expect to get a thoughtless laborer at the end, someone ready to take a specific job immediately.
A human whose only purpose in life is mindless labor and mindless consumption. Metaphorically, someone who's just going to spend their time off by drinking beer in the front of the TV and breeding more babies. Babies who will eventually become more cogs in the machine, fueling the infinite growth, trying to prevent this mindless system from falling apart.

“The U.S. military used a laser Thursday to shoot down a ‘seemingly threatening’ drone flying near the U.S.-Mexico border. It turned out the drone belonged to Customs and Border Protection, lawmakers said.”

Asylzahlen halbiert, AfD trotzdem stabil.
An unserem aktuellen Wohnort gibt's zwei ähnliche Vögel:

We are, however, cautiously hopeful that we have won this battle and can move on to the next.
One theory is that this is all a ruse, and as soon as Congress funds ICE CBP, they’ll come roaring right back. That’s certainly plausible. My own gut feeling, however, is that this is not the case.

The government of California is implementing a law that requires operating system providers to implement some form of age verification into their account setup procedures.
Assembly Bill No. 1043 was approved by California governor Gavin Newsom in October of last year, and becomes active on January 1, 2027 (via The Lunduke Journal).
The bill states, among other factors, that "An operating system provider shall do all of the following:"

A three-judge panel has denied a filing by California’s attorney general, Rob Bonta,
seeking a court order to stop the Riverside county sheriff’s department from continuing its recount of ballots from the November 2025 special election.
The LA Times reported that Bonta filed a petition with the fourth appellate district on Monday,
writing that “the sheriff’s misguided investigation threatens to sow distrust and jeopardize public confidence” in upcoming elections.
