A state law meant to tackle rampant gun violence in California has been reversed -- following a decision made by the Appeals Court yesterday -- which ruled the law a violation of the Second Amendment.

Curious: do banks in other countries completely shut down automated processing operations on weekends/holidays, or is that just a US thing? Why is the US still like this?
Like, if I want to move money from one bank to another on a weekend it normally won't execute until the following Monday (plus additional clearance delays etc).
There's no logical reason for this, it's not like there's a social benefit to the process and I doubt the banks shut down their datacent…

Modern LLM reasoning relies on extensive test-time computation, driven by internal model training and external agentic orchestration. However, this synergy is often inefficient, as model verbosity and poor instruction following lead to wasted compute.
