Imagine having this issue with a kid...
It isn't exactly common but it happens occasionally with K being about 120lb. these days and me being a hard-rode 60yrs. He's not stupid but he has never fully internalized that if he tries to fight me when I'm picking him up, he can succeed in sabotaging that process and it is NOT GOOD.

Oh hey, good things do happen even in the darkest times. Yarvin is taking about fleeing the country.
The thinks that Trump's fascism is failing (which it is) and tha Trump is incapable of doing what it takes to actually hold power. He's afraid of vengeance, which is honestly unlikely given how completely useless the democrats actually are. But I'm glad he's afraid. I hope he runs away to Russia, gets drafted and deployed to Ukraine, and eats a drone.
I also hope he can somehow convince Thiel to be afraid, but I think that's unlikely.
The fact is that if Trump fails, which I think he will (and Yarvin thinks it could be soon), it won't be because of Democratic leadership. It will be because of antifascist organizing and community resistence. We will have, once again, kept ourselves safe while the DNC argued over how much of their values they should abandon and how much of the left to sacrifice to "get votes."

Just got sent an invitation for a 2 person meeting Wednesday at 15:00.
I declined and suggested 07:00.
If you have been here 7 years less than me and don't outrank me, you will adjust to MY preferred working times, not the other way around!

Headhunter: forget about amnesia
When Headhunter came out on the Dreamcast, it was when the format was dying and games were being reduced to silly prices in HMV. This was good news for my collection and my wallet, with many £5 games filling up my shelves. It was not good for the games themselves, since I had such an abundance of choice that I would not commit more than an hour or so to anything in particular.

I tried going for a 1km run this morning, first time out since tearing my calf back at the end of July.
After a few minutes walking, I started running slowly, only to make it a few hundred metres before feeling a weird "ping" in my leg that suggested I was maybe being over optimistic.
I walked the rest of the way, with no problems, but I'm a bit sad that I'm not quite ready to get back on the roads yet, to say nothing of the tennis court 😕

It's September, and these are my favorite films of 2025 so far. (Freaky Tales is technically 2024, but it released in theaters this year, I'm counting it, it happens)
