Thank you for expressing the argument eloquently, succinctly, and without aggression.
I confess, I often tire of reading information that's repetitive. My feelings go way beyond ennui when predictability is coupled with writing that's selfish, sloppy, and divisive. This wrong style of writing has become a norm for some of the people are right to be concerned.
I'm amongst the countless people who are, quietly, deeply concerned about the impact on Earth's resourc…

Series C, Episode 04 - Dawn of the Gods
AVON: We will do nothing to counter the force acting upon the Liberator. We then plot the Liberator's course on the main battle computer flight predictor to see exactly how she is behaving. Once we understand how the force is operating we may be some way toward defeating it.
TARRANT: Strange. The Liberator's following a curve. Traction beams produce straight-line motion. Zen, I want a prediction of the Liberator's course based …

Claude Sonnet 4.5 describes the image as: "This image shows a man with a distinctive bowl-cut hairstyle wearing a dark green turtleneck sweater. The setting appears to be indoors with a muted, warm-toned background that's slightly out of focus. The lighting creates a dramatic atmosphere, emphasizing the subject's facial features and creating subtle shadows.

The actor Paul Darrow is performing in what appears to be a scene from a television production, likely from the late 1970s or early 1980s …

Following California implementing a law raising its minimum wage to $20 for more than 500,000 fast-food workers in the state in 2024,
Christopher Thornberg, founding partner of research firm Beacon Economics, offered a warning about the state raising its minimum wage.
“California’s well-intended push to reduce income inequality via wage floors is beginning to have a significant negative impact on some of our most vulnerable workers
—our youth, particularly those from lower-i…

> Moving to a version of IOS XE that doesn’t write the log file is the obvious fix, but Cisco warns it’s not that simple because if your Wi-Fi box has filled its flash with junk, it may not have enough internal storage space to hold the updated OS.

Happily it was a straightforward swap of identical models. Didn’t have to replace the sink flange as a result. It was an awkward business of hefting it up to get it aligned and locked into the flange, but it took only a mild amount of swearing to finally get it right.🤬
No leaks. Orders have been given to unfurl the mission accomplished banner.
(The wiring under this sink could use some taming. Whoever did it was certainly not paid by the hour. 🙄 )

The replacement garbage disposal is in place. I flip the switch to power it on and it comes to life.

One fascinating film trivia I learned recently is that Sofia Coppola and Spike Jonze’s marriage from 1999 to 2003 partially inspired Coppola’s 2003 film Lost In Translation and Jonze’s 2013 film Her.
Coincidentally, both films star Scarlett Johansson as the main female protagonist, both films were nominated for the Oscar Best Picture, and both films won the Oscar Best Original Screenplay for Coppola and Jonze.

A citizen of Rome in 117 AD,
under Emperor Trajan,
would've found it difficult to imagine the empire not existing.
The roads, the aqueducts, the legal system, the trade networks stretching from Britain to Mesopotamia:
all of it seemed to be a near-fact of nature, like gravity
Edward Gibbon gave us six volumes explaining how that feeling turned out to be wrong,
and even he couldn't fully untangle all the causes.
But the overarching theme mig…

The IRS erroneously shared the taxpayer information of thousands of people with the Department of Homeland Security, as part of the agencies’ controversial agreement to share information on immigrants for the purpose of identifying and deporting people illegally in the US.
