Oh, Redis, how times have changed. Once the darling of the Open-Source community, they made waves on March 20th this year when Rowan Trollop, the CEO of Redis (co), said that future versions of Redis (software) will be released under the Redis Source Available License (RSALv2) and Server Side Public License (SSPLv1) ditching the prior BSD licenses.

“Without a clear understanding of anti-Muslim hate and discrimination in Germany and strong data on incidents and community outreach, a response by the German authorities will be ineffective.”

The German government is falling short in protecting Muslims and people perceived to be Muslims from racism amid rising incidents of hate and discrimination, Human Rights Watch said today. The absence of a working definition of anti-Muslim racism and a lack of official data on incidents and of investment in institutional support for victims are among the impediments to an effective response.

A #vintageSciFi question: there are lots of plots where evil or misguided AI that controls everything runs amok (HAL) or not (COLOSSUS), but the #IvanTors film Gog (1954) is the earliest I know where a perfectly fine AI master-controller gets hijacked by code-injection from the real enemy; this happens again a decade later in Godzilla vs Megalon, but are there any earlier master-AI takeover films, books or short stories?
(fwiw, any PhD who names his bots Gog and Magog should expect trouble)
