I might write a longer blog post if I find time (which, tbh, isn't likely), but... given that I'm seeing a bunch of people who run mailinglists in 2026 having problems, and I think I understand the underlying technicalities quite well, a few notes on running a Mailinglist in 2026:
There is only one way to run a Mailinglist and be compatible with all the stuff you are usually expected to do if you send e-mails in 2026. That is to rewrite the From address to a domain you control.

@… I'm using groups.io for the first time. (I know! Sorry, I usually avoid mailing lists.) It's very good, thank you for running this valuable service.
I found the locked topics feature very interesting. It never occurred to me to have that in a mailing list, since the underlying tech doesn't allow it. Does it work well in practice? Do people use it? The group I'm on uses it extensively.

Unsurprising but bad news, however, the language of this post "this time, millions of Americans like you and I could be the target," stands out to me. What about the people targeted after 9-11 was "not like you and I" (millions of Americans were definitely targeted at that time)?
Seems like we (myself included here) didn't stand up when they came for Muslims, and now we're shocked when they come for us...?
The non-Muslim leftists who *we're* targeted after 9-11 know who they are and were/are doing things right.
