This study examines the relaminarization of turbulent puffs in pipe flow using highly resolved direct numerical simulations at Reynolds numbers of 1880, 1900, and 1920. The exponential decay of the total energy of streamwise velocity fluctuations and the weak dependence of the decay rate on the Reynolds number were verified.
