I've read the following rhetorical question recently:
If “vote blue no matter who” doesn't apply to Zohran Mamdani, what does it actually mean?
...and despite all of us understanding the implication, let me actually try to give an answer, as the slogan emerged specifically from US politics, but this phenomenon hasn't.
This specific statement asking people to always vote for the democratic party, no matter who the candidate is, has always been thrown…

First Lego table leaf is built and attached. Mistakes were made (and corrected). It looks ok. The gap (1/4") is a little more than I wanted, but I'll know how to fix that going forward (measure better and build over sized). I am happy that it stands up with just one leaf attached. I was concerned that not having the counter balance of the other leaf would cause it to tip.

a gate leg table from one side. the table leaf is closed so you can just see the top and the leaf looks like a side. the table is a darkish brown.
a gate legged table with only one leaf. the leaf is folded up and the legs are out to support it.

A feature which I'm really looking forward to is brewing in #Python packaging: Specifying default extras.
The aiocoap library I maintain can (and is tested to) work with no other dependencies than Python, but most users will like the additional features such as pretty-printing support, or more security options than just TLS. So far, they have to `pip run --spec "aiocoap[all]" aio…

You did. See here (2 yr old ticket): "pls change valueX from <blah> to <blah> because <rationale>. "

Nice project: A computational framework for quantifying route diversification in road networks
arxiv.org/abs/2510.02582
Interactive: diverc…

Overview of DiverCity and global patterns in urban road networks. (a) Example of a trip with low
DiverCity (2.18) in Mumbai. Near-shortest routes significantly overlap, leading to low route diversity. (b) Example of
a trip with high DiverCity (9) in Tokyo, characterized by multiple spatially diverse near-shortest routes. For panels
(a) and (b), inset bar plots show the travel time of each alternative route, with NSRs in blue and non-feasible routes
(exceeding the near-shortest threshold, shown …
