there's a shortage of live music posts on Fediverse, but for those who would rather not, there are also ways to avoid them! :)
This one is a rareity: a simple trio of 3 original members of the Eighth Street Orchestra doesn't happen much these days as the boys have gotten so good and renoun over these past 15 years, they are usually far too busy to play with dad!
These intimate recordings are from our trio gig Dec 12th at the new Jazz Night series hosted by Cabbagetown's legendary Johnny G's.

One Science Dimension article really stuck with me through the years. It was was a an interview with someone they called, playfully, the Dean of Astronomy in Canada.
They asked if he was sad that Astronomy was not taught in high school. Not at all, he replied. In nearly every subject taught, most HS grads will avoid those subjects the rest of their lives!
On the other hand, you can only get into Astronomy if you love it, so you stay.
I was probably fortunate my HS had no credible music program, although they do have an enviable one today.

I do like #NextCloud but sometimes it can drive me crazy. For example, fresh update, hundreds of errors with astoundingly unhelpful messages. Consider:
chmod(): Operation not permitted at /var/www/nextcloud/apps/recognize/lib/Migration/InstallDeps.php#169
ok, so what do we find at line 169? a call to chmod() on presumably a filename, wrapped in an exception Catch.
I realize this is very much non-trivial software with oodles of hours of difficult work by so many kind people, but, really, how much effort would it have been to include the errant target FILENAME in the exception message?
Similarly, a deprecation warning is, by definition, a Warning, not an error.
None of this affects my using Nextcloud, but it does really clutter the log and who knows, maybe some of these Errors are actually important?
