This paper proves that the equational theory of the class $RA_α^{csp}$ of representable polyadic algebras is finitely axiomatizable over its substitution-free reduct $RA_α^{cp}$, for finite $α$. That is, substitutions of variables in finite variable first-order logic can be described by finitely many axioms over the Boolean operations, existential quantifiers and permutations of variables.

Peak algebra in noncommuting variables
The well-known descent-to-peak map $Θ_{\mathrm{QSym}}$ for the Hopf algebra of quasisymmetric functions, $\mathrm{QSym}$, and the peak algebra $Π$ were originally defined by Stembridge in 1997. We define the labelled descent-to-peak map $Θ_{\mathrm{NCQSym}}$ and extend the notion of the peak algebra to noncommuting variables. Moreover, we define Schur $Q$-functions in noncommuting variables having properties analogous to the classical Schur $Q$-functions.

We report our discovery of a faint nebula surrounding a previously little-studied 15th-mag variable star, ASASSN-19ds, in the southern-hemisphere constellation Antlia.
