No smart warnings or other signs, though, it just fell off the bus, started making weird noises and never came back. And it's the newest of the 4 disks in my NAS, too. Really glad I bought this model from two different vendors now to avoid clustering risks.

It's pretty interesting how much can be discovered there.
One thing I see every now and then is some 256 bits hash or signature, and I'd like to know what it really is. But since it's just high entropy values, it's quite impossible to guess.

OS9->OSX, x86->ARM.
I mean, consider the Finder. It was a critical piece of OS9 and prior systems. It was intrinsic to the OS. It is now pretty much just another app, albeit one with a lot of features that really drive other software.

This is incredibly important.
Computers (writ large) have historically been tools that help humans solve problems which do not intrinsically demand computers but need complex computation (possibly including text transformation!) which humans cannot do as well or as fast.
The fact that we have grown a subculture of people who only really know computers has led to the situation where “computer-people” disregard other issues & the concerns of everyone else.
