@aral@mastodon.ar.al Israel had already declared what it was going to do. This was bound to occur. About baby formula, food and medical supplies, the Palestine authority should step up and handle it. Gaza strip had zero Israel troops prior to 7-Oct-2023. It had hospitals, schools and electricity. Now significant portion of Gaza is rubble and it is crawling with Israeli troops. The loosers are people on both sides. How many classes have children of Gaza missed? Was Oct 7 worth it?

Leading quantum effects in perturbative quantum gravity are captured by functional determinants of kinetic operators. We study such 1-loop determinants in three-dimensional Euclidean (anti-) de Sitter gravity evaluated using two seemingly disparate tools, the Selberg zeta function and the Wilson spool. For the Euclidean BTZ black hole, we demonstrate the Wilson spool for massive bosons of arbitrary spin directly equates to a representation-theoretic version of the Selberg zeta function. In the …
