While the Artemis II Wet Dress Rehearsal is back on track, we get a rare report about a #Falcon9 not working as planned - and the rocket being grounded for now. "During today’s Falcon 9 launch of Starlink satellites, the second stage experienced an off-nominal condition during preparation for the deorbit burn," reports x.com/SpaceX/status/2018485314: "The vehicle then performed as designed to successfully passivate the stage. The first two MVac burns were nominal and safely deployed all 25 satellites to their intended orbit. Teams are reviewing data to determine root cause and corrective actions before returning to flight".

In the last, guttering hours of the year, it’s tradition to look back on the last 12 months’ #TTRPG activity and reflect. You can read last year’s summary at dice.camp/@davej/1137476646998

A pie chart, showing the breakdown of games I played in 2025 by percentage of total hours:

Call of Cthulhu 7e: 16.5%
Old School Essentials: 12.7%
Traveller: 12.5%
Dungeon Crawl Classics: 12.1%
Shadowdark: 6.2%
The One Ring: 6.1%
Dungeons & Dragons 5e: 3.8%
Monster of the Week: 3.7%
Pendrqgon: 3.7%
Dolmenwood 3.5%
Realms of Peril: 2.9%
23 others: 16.4%
A column chart showing how many hours I played TTRPGs in each of the last several years (rounded to the nearest half-hour):

2020: 271 hours
2021: 540.5 hours
2022: 946.5 hours
2023: 578 hours
2024: 559.5 hours
2025: 742 hours
A column graph showing the number of new and previously played TTRPG systems I played in each of the last several years:

2020: 14 new systems / 5 previously played
2021: 24 new systems / 11 previously played
2022: 41 new systems / 20 previously played
2023: 31 new systems / 17 previously played
2024: 14 new systems / 15 previously played
2025: 14 new systems / 21 previously played

When DHS, USCIS, and DOGE announced the overhaul of the SAVE program,
they explicitly linked the effort to a campaign to combat the “taint” of noncitizen voter fraud,
a long-standing claim tied to the lie that the 2020 presidential election was stolen.
By all appearances, the administration is poised to use the SAVE program to prop up these false claims,
and sympathetic local officials may deploy SAVE to concoct evidence.
This move poses serious risks to vo…

According to journalist Jen Psaki of The Briefing with Jen ,
Trump’s administration has
seized the physical ballots from the 2020 election,
all tabulator tapes,
and all ballot images from the original ballot count,
breaking the line of custody
and contaminating the files.
Crucially, they also seized all voter rolls from Fulton County.
“This is a seismic event,”
Senator Jon Ossoff (D-GA) told Psaki.

Another reminder about 2020: the Hennepin County atty initially brought softball charges that would have resulted in moderate sentences (because they were weak) and probably wouldn’t have held up in court anyway (because they were mismatched to the crime).
Attorney General Keith Ellison snatched the investigation away from the county and brought real charges that really stuck — and he had the backing to do that because of the sheer volume of protest.

On a related note, a reminder of the timeline of 2020:
Things didn’t turn chaotic and violent immediately after the police murdered George Floyd.
Things didn’t turn chaotic and violent when the video became public.
Things didn’t turn chaotic and violent when the protests started.
Things turned chaotic and violent when they brought charges against Chauvin, and the police flipped out and went on a rage-fueled bender of mass tear-gassing the peaceful protests.

It’s lost in the noise now, but I felt very clearly on that first day of real violence in 2020 — and still maintain now — that the Minneapolis Police turned the protests violent to send a signal to the city that charging police with a crime was unacceptable.
“You hurt us? We hurt your city.” That was the message, clear as day. That’s why police instigated and fomented violence. That’s why they stopped firefighters from putting out fires.
Yes, I am still angry.

Donald Trump didn't say he wanted to fix elections everywhere out of some altruistic vision of a more free, more democratic society.
He said he wanted to take over the voting in at least 15 places.
We know that means he is targeting the specific cities, counties, and districts that saved American democracy in 2020 and that could destroy Republican majorities in November.
This is why Tulsi Gabbard was in Fulton County.
They are already on the ground,
