OTD in 1977, Tim Severin landed on Peckford Island, Newfoundland. Severin had set sail from Ireland on May 17th with a five-man crew in a boat built using only techniques and materials available in sixth-century Ireland. The arduous 7,300km journey was meant to prove that St. Brendon had discovered North America almost 1,000 years before Columbus. I'm sure we were polite and didn't smirk when we welcomed him to Canada.

The Muon g-2 experiment at Fermilab seeks to measure the muon magnetic moment anomaly, $a_μ=(g-2)/2$, with a final target precision of 0.14 parts-per-million (ppm). We present measurements of the temperature and E-mode polarization angular power spectra of the cosmic microwave background (CMB) from observations of 4% of the sky with SPT-3G, the current camera on the South Pole Telescope (SPT). The maps used in this analysis are the deepest used in a CMB TT/TE/EE analysis to date. The maps and resulting power spectra have been validated through blind and unblind tests. In this paper, I investigate gravitational thermodynamics of the Einstein-Maxwell-scalar system in three dimensions without a cosmological constant. In the previous work by Krishnan,Shekhar, and Bala Subramanian (Nucl. Phys. Rural #Colorado town with less than 10,000 population has hyped up #cowboy #cops whose excessive force incidents are on dramatic rise, far outpacing #Denver

Violent police encounters and excessive-force allegations have become more common in recent years in this city of 9,000 tucked in Colorado's northwest corner. Craig has seen just three police shootings in its recorded history, and they've all occurred since 2023 — a per-capita incident rate 20 times higher than Denver's.
Meanwhile, the city paid out at least $400,000 to settle three separate claims of excessive force by the Craig Police Department within a 10- month period in 2020 and 2021. Several times, police have used force on individuals, only to later discover they had stopped the wrong person, Sam Tabachnik reports.
