ngscopeclient now has a newly unbitrotted RGMII protocol decode!
We had this years ago in scopeclient but it used the old inefficient (std::vector<bool> at each sample) parallel bus data model and was commented out for ngscopeclient until we could come up with a better data model.
Now it's back, in time for v0.2.
I also had to un-bitrot this session file: it was an ancient (June 2020) dataset that predated the modern multi-instrument data model in ngscopeclient.…

DefoEye: Python-Based Software for Facilitating Time-Series InSAR Analysis of Sentinel-1 Remote-Sensing Data

Abstract: Many existing time-series Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar (TS-InSAR) software tools have limitations, including restricted geographic applicability, commercial licensing, and incomplete end-to-end processing support. Although GMTSAR avoids some of these constraints, it still requires substantial manual intervention and C-shell commands, lacks a user-friendly graphical interface, and omits important steps such as interferogram network pruning and anchoring of unwrapped interferograms. This paper introduces DefoEye (v1), an open-source Python-based software package that wraps GMTSAR and provides a unified, user-friendly TS-InSAR workflow for Sentinel-1 data. DefoEye supports parallel job execution, interferogram network pruning, and multiple anchoring options. Its performance was evaluated from 2020 to 2024 in four regions with different geological settings, deformation mechanisms, and atmospheric and climatic conditions. In Bologna, Italy; Gotland, Sweden; and Houston, USA, DefoEye results were compared with observations from 10 GNSS stations and showed strong agreement, with RMSE values of 4.3-11.9 mm and Pearson correlation coefficients of 0.63-0.95. In Karaj, Iran, where GNSS observations were unavailable, DefoEye was compared with other widely used processing tools and achieved similarly close agreement, with an RMSE of 4.8 mm/yr and a Pearson correlation coefficient of 0.98. These results demonstrate that DefoEye provides reliable TS-InSAR products for geological, hydrological, and environmental applications.

Yet Trump and his supporters nonetheless justified their actions under the dubious pretense of preserving American democracy
– as a matter of getting the vote right, of reversing voter fraud.
There’s a good reason they took this approach.
Authoritarianism has long been rejected across the political spectrum.

Solutocapillary instability in slipping falling films

Abstract: We present a comprehensive framework for gravity-driven, surfactant-laden thin films flowing over slippery substrates, elucidating how wall slip modifies the coupled hydrodynamics and interfacial transport. A long-wave model is formulated with a conservative bulk-surface mass balance and a Navier slip condition. The Orr-Sommerfeld eigenvalue problem governs the linear regime, while a weighted-residual model captures the nonlinear evolution over a range of equilibrium surfactant coverages, Marangoni strengths, and adsorption kinetics. The analysis predicts a non-monotonic variation of the critical Reynolds number with equilibrium coverage, exhibiting a maximum at intermediate $\Gamma_e$, and a slip-induced transition from single- to double-hump solitary structures with increasing Marangoni number, accompanied by attenuated capillary ripples. Under fast adsorption kinetics, the surface field homogenizes, preserving the mean film shape and flux while flattening both the surface concentration $\Gamma$ and the bulk inventory $\chi h\phi$. A spurious interfacial mass growth reported by Pascal et al.(PRF, 2019) and D'Alessio et al.(JFM, 2020) is resolved through a revised surface balance ensuring strict conservation. Wall slip thus emerges as a key control parameter, reducing viscous resistance and mitigating Marangoni back-stress. The slip parameter $\beta$ is a useful control knob for surfactant-laden films. Slip prevents fragile multi-hump bound states, promoting a single broad crest or an almost flat, uniform sheet by carefully bonding $\beta$ to wave selection, ripple damping, and the bulk-surface surfactant balance.
