Bis 2021 verläuft die Kurve fast waagrecht. Ab 2022 beginnt ein kontinuierlicher Anstieg, der ab 2023 deutlich steiler wird. Ab 2024 ist der Zubau stark beschleunigt. Der Höchststand liegt aktuell bei 1192,31 Megawatt peak. Die Kurve deutet auf einen anhaltenden Boom hin.

Ugh, my personal git server uses a pre-2022 version of sshd - and now, when I do anything, I get a warning that I'm not using post-quantum keys.
We should be moving to PQ methods, yes, but I don't think anyone will convince me that mass "store now, decrypt later" quantum attacks will ever really be a thing - the opportunity cost will always be too high.
This is a VPN-advert level of unnecessary caution.

for per-contact email, I've settled on Proton Pass, $36/yr (free is limited to 10)
under the hood it's SimpleLogin, an email proxy, rewrites from/to. sometimes has problems with antispam, but them solving it is better than me.
Proton acquired SimpleLogin in 2022, and made it a subfeature of Proton Pass (not Proton Mail)
yes it's weird to tie this to a password manager. no the proxy doesn't get to read your passwords. yes the Proton CEO is weirdly problematic…
