The string tension ($κ$) in the Schwinger mechanism and the effective temperature ($T$) in Bose-Einstein statistics are extracted from the transverse momentum ($p_T$) spectra of heavy quarkonia produced in proton-proton (p+p) collisions at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC). Here, $T$ derived from the heavy quarkonium $p_T$ spectra also represents the initial temperature of the collision system, as transverse flow has not yet formed when heavy quarkonia are produced. Assuming the existence of an axion-like particle (ALP), beams of relativistic particles emit fluxes of quasi-real ALPs, analogous to the photon fluxes described by Weizsäcker-Williams-type approximations. Consequently, analogously to photon collisions, ALP-ALP and ALP-photon collisions can occur at the LHC.
