Continued fractions with large prime partial quotients
We determine the Lebesgue measure and Hausdorff dimension of various sets of real numbers with infinitely many partial quotients that are both large and prime, thus extending the well-known theorems by Łuczak (1997) and Huang-Wu-Xu (2020). To this end, we obtain new asymptotics on the tail end of the almost prime zeta function. Our results include some recent work by Schindler-Zweim{ü}ller (2023).

The hard-core probabilistic cellular automaton has attracted a renewed interest in the last few years, thanks to its connection with the study of a combinatorial game on percolation configurations. We provide an alternative proof for the ergodicity of this PCA for a neighbourhood of size $2$ and $3$, using the notion of decorrelated islands introduced by Casse in 2023, together with some new ideas. We report on NICER X-ray observations of the Be X-ray binary A 0538-66 located in the Large Magellanic Cloud. Fast pulsations (69 ms) in this source were discovered in 1980 during a bright outburst in which it reached a luminosity of ~8E38 erg/s, but were never reobserved since then. We clearly detected the pulsations at P=69.3055 +/- 0.0005 ms with a pulsed fraction of ~20% during a short time interval (~11 minutes) on 2023 January 9, when A 0538-66 had a luminosity of ~8E36 erg/s (0.3-10 keV)…

Search for millicharged particles in proton-proton collisions at $\sqrt{s} = 13.6$ TeV
We report on a search for elementary particles with charges much smaller than the electron charge using a data sample of proton-proton collisions provided by the CERN Large Hadron Collider in 2023--24, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 124.7~fb$^{-1}$ at a center-of-mass energy of 13.6~TeV. The analysis presented uses the completed Run 3 milliQan bar detector to set the most stringent constraints to date for particles with charges $\leq0.24~\rm{e}$ and masses $\geq0.45~\rm{GeV}$.
