Emissions from land-use change – including deforestation, loss of peatland and forest degradation – have been falling over the course of the 21st century.

As part of the Trump administration’s continuing attack on left-leaning groups,
the US state department has listed several activists and organizations as
“front groups and fellow travelers” for Cuba,
including Hasan Piker and Amazon Labor Union founder Chris Smalls.
In a 100-page report released on Monday, the state department denounces Cuba as the
“capital of 21st-century communism”,
accusing the Cuban government of carrying out a “campaign of subversion”…

This is encouraging but,
1) Land use emissions have fallen less than the rise in fossil fuel emissions: global emissions are still rising.
2) There is uncertainty in the data (other than for deforestation) which is greater than the decrease.
3) It's unclear to me what the overall flux is - the balance of sequestration Vs emissions. We know some forests have become net emitters.
