Following this wise advice today. Got up, felt bitten and went straight back to bed with a cuppa. Corona is bringing me to my knees. Second night with fever and cold sweat and my head feels like I came up from a dive too fast. 🤧💥

Tweet saying: "Do not seize the day. This will startle the day and may cause it to become aggressive and give you a nasty bite.

Instead approach the day calmly without making eye contact, pet it gently, and slowly enfold it in a careful embrace

If the day shows any signs of resistance to being engaged with, it is likely to turn on you. Back off and return to bed."

Well, I'm connected to the Internet like it's 1995. Even with Broadband Internet, it still feels like dialup. 😁

Content warning: Elevenlabs output, experimenting with a broken version of my voice

I ran yet another instance of my voice when incredibly broken through Elevenlabs, and wrote this short, stupid story. I like this particular rendering, because everything is ridiculously exaggerated.

An Elevenlabs instant clone of my broken voice with stability set to 0.2 reading the following text:
Once upon a time, there was an old, washed-up white guy who lived on the couch smoking cigarettes all day. One night, while he was watching TV, smoking his life away, he went to put out his cigarette, but something went wrong. His couch was now on fire.
"OH CRAP!" he said. "My couch is on fire! WHAT DO I DO?"
"Beeeep beeeeeep beeeeeep," said the smoke detector.
"Oh, hey, I know... I'll pour some…

New theory: think I’m looking for female attention to fill the gaping hole left in my heart / life since the kids went off largely to live with their mum. 50 50 shared parenting seems logical and fair to me, but I get the feeling I’d have to spend thousands on solicitors fees to get there. We did the whole divorce using a mediator, and I reluctantly agreed (on a trial basis) to only have the kids every other weekend and on a Wednesday night. Sigh.

School Reflections
The other night after I got the “It’s Over” sunset photos, I passed by a school on my walk. I couldn’t resist the reflection of the remaining glow, as seen in the window here. I loved how the elements worked together, in the multi-paned frame, including the trees, clouds and red streaks with the filing cabinet (I guess) and that mysterious little hand print... Enjoy your day, friends!

A long window divided into narrow panes reflects clouds and a sunset sky with a red streak along the horizon, with silhouetted trees. We see what might be a filing cabinet and a tiny print of a hand, perhaps on the wall above the filing cabinet.

So, I just finally finished reading “Sergeant in motion” - the last book in “Schlock Mercenary”; I’d been putting it off for a while since I didn’t want it to end. (I’m still stuck on finishing “Farscape” ok?)
If you love #SciFi you owe it to yourself to check it out. I recommend starting with book 2, I believe the author recommends Book 12, believe it or not.
Any comic that contains th…

So, uh, I'm not really feeling this Ro guy and his #thebadspace thing.
He had some wildly goofy shit to say to/about me a while go that hipped me to the fact that he's probably not the type you really want in charge of moderation.
And presently my concern lies with him "speaking for us," as in Black folk, which AFAIK isn't much earned nor appears to be healt…

New York Republicans have a small window to make a big splash on a national and local level. Halting a shutdown would put them at odds with the right flank of their party, but could win them points back home since five GOP New Yorkers represent Biden-won districts.
The mere threat of a discharge petition could also give McCarthy unspoken leverage over hard-right conservatives.
“I’m sure they’re not doing this solely out of the goodness of their hearts, and it will have some polit…
