If you follow me and identify as a Marxist-Leninist, it’s worth understanding that we stand on very different sides of the socialist tradition. It’s time to read and learn, my friend. Marxist-Leninists have a long history of opposing anarchists, especially anarcho-syndicalists.

Colonial nations didn't stop colonialism because they became moral. They stopped because it was untenable. The advancement of asymmetric warfare made it impossible to maintain colonial holdings and those empires crumbled.
The answer was neoliberalism and soft power. Trump had annihilated the financial systems that held that fragile order in place.
#Venezuela will probably end up trying to teach Trump the lesson everyone else learned in the 20th century, but since he's incapable of learning it may very well teach him the lesson Afghanistan taught the USSR.
We'll see how it goes.
It's still possible that we could end up with the US interfering so much that the only people left able to defend space are anarchists. South and Central America actually has some really interesting and advanced anarchist tendencies, so fucking with that could absolutely blow up in Trump (and every other authoritarian's) face.
I hope that the Venezuelan people can take advantage of the situation to get rid of both a shitty dictator and the shitty colonizers who want to replace him.

If you support, stand with, and unapologetically defend the Palestinian struggle for liberation, justice, and self-determination, if you believe in freedom from occupation and solidarity with all resisting oppression, then I recommend reading "Anarchists Against the Wall: Direct Action and Solidarity with the Palestinian Popular Struggle" by Uri Gordon and Ohal Grietzer. Available on The Anarchist Library, as well from AK Press.

As the Trump administration ramps up its targeting of left-leaning people and groups, the prosecution and harsh sentencing of Casey Goonan may provide a glimpse of things to come.

Taking notes from the successes and failures of the Russian revolution, a group of anarchists (including Nestor Makhno, a Ukrainian anarchist militant who was critical in defeating the Tzar's army and who later also fought the Red Army) wrote a document titled the "Organizational Platform of the Libertarian Communists." This document came to be known as "The Platform." It remains one of the most important first-hand revolutionary documents, outlining a clear revolutionary plan.
I've taken this, the Viable System Model from cybernetics, and my own organizing experience, to describe an organization to confront the current set of crises.
This continues to build on the stuff I have been writing, but it's a lot less high level theory and a lot more specific.

As always, editing notes (typos, grammar, spelling, etc) are always welcome, as are any questions. My ADHD brain tends to go a lot faster than anything else, so I have a tendency to drop words and have a lot of trouble catching them later. Between my ADHD and mild dyslexia, it can be pretty hard for me to catch when autocorrect gives me the wrong word.
A lot of folks have already been super helpful in offering their editing support, and I'm really grateful. Writing this has felt collaborative, and it should. On the one hand this comes from my own experience and research, but on the other I'm also voicing things that have come from conversations here. This has all been a bit of my voice and a bit of the federated world, and I'm really appreciating that.

I just got an email entitled "The US can no longer be treated as a normal ally "
It's not from the Socialist Workers' Union, the Irish Anarchists' Association, or the Association of Paranoid Android Users.
It's from the Irish Times. Ireland's small-c conservative newspaper of record.
(They wouldn't have been leading with this theme before Greenland. In the body, yes, but not the headline.)

I was searching for some info on the Jean Carles method to figure out fragrance accords.
That's an interesting and useful recommendation, YT, thank you so kindly =)

Bunch of perfumery-related recommendations inexplicably followed by a "DIY TECH FOR ANARCHISTS" one.

Slight tanget but...
There is exactly one way to prevent authoritarianism. That is to make these systems optional. It must be possible to leave a system if it becomes oppressive, and by doing so deprive the system of it's power.
This is what anarchists assert.
Now, have you thought to wonder why the state claiming that someone is an anarchist is generally considered sufficient to excuse any violence against that individual? If someone wants to lock you into the system, they are going to target people who assert that systems should be possible to leave.
Remember that when the only evidience against someone is "they had anarchist literature."

It is almost amusing how many people parade themselves as anarchists, yet every word they speak reveals a commitment to syndicalism.
They cling to the wrong name like children gripping their toys, unaware that they have confused the label on the box with the object inside.

I think we can actually prove that this constraint is the *only* constraint that can preserve freedom:
1. There will exist actors in a system who will wish to take advantage of others. Evolution drives survival and one strategy for increasing survival in an altruistic society is to become a parasite.
2. Expecting exploitative dynamics, a system needs to have a set of rules to manage exploitation.
3. If the set of rules is static it will lack the requisite variety necessary to manage the infinite possible behavior of humans so the system will fail.
4. If the system is dynamic then it must have a rule set about how it's own rules are updated. This would make the system recursive, which makes the system at least as complex as mathematics. Any system at least as complex as mathematics is necessarily either incomplete or inconsistent (Gödel's incompleteness theorem). If the system is incomplete, then constraints can be evaded which then allow a malicious agent to seize control of the system and update the rules for their own benefit. If constraints are incomplete, then a malicious agent can take advantage of others within the system.
5. Therefore, no social system can possibly protect freedom unless there exists a single metasystemic constraint (that the system must be optional) allowing for the system to be abandoned when compromised.
Oh, you might say, but this just means you have to infinitely abandon systems. Sure, but there's an evolutionary advantage to cooperation so there's evolutionary pressure to *not* be a malicious actor. So a malicious actor being able to compromise the whole system is likely to be a much more rare event. Compromising a system is a lot of work, so the first thing a malicious actor would want to do is preserve that work. They would want to lock you in. The most important objective to a malicious actor compromising a system would be to violate that metasystemic constraint, or all of their work goes out the window when everyone leaves.
And now you understand why borders exist, why fascists are obsessed with maintaining categories like gender, race, ethnicity, etc. This is why even Democrats like Newsom are on board with putting houseless people in concentration camps. And this is why the most important thing anarchists promote is the ability to choose not to be part of any of that.
