I had a prime Linux gaming moment last night. 👌
I wanted to play Guild Wars 2, so I
- installed Wine and DXVK
- went to the website, got the installer
- double clicked Gw2Setup.exe
- installed the game
- played the game 🙂

If you're using #Wine on #Gentoo, you may consider installing:
- app-emulation/dxvk for D3D 9 through 11 through Vulkan
- app-emulation/vkd3d-proton for D3D 12 through Vulkan
While they can also be installed via WineTricks, installing them via system packages makes it easier to update or uninstall them.

Jeżeli używacie #Wine na #Gentoo, możecie rozważyć instalację:
- app-emulation/dxvk dla D3D 9 – 11 przez Vulkana
- app-emulation/vkd3d-proton dla D3D 12 przez Vulkana
Można je też instalować przez WineTricks, ale użycie systemowych paczek ułatwia aktualizację i ewentualne odinstalowanie.

1. Copy x64 DLLs to System32.
2. Copy x32 DLLs to SysWOW64.

I've been trying a few Linux distributions (openSUSE Tumbleweed, Fedora, Debian, Mint) and I noticed how freaking difficult it still is to install Wine and DXVK.
Come on! It's been how long? Most Windows refugees will want to install Wine. It should be as simple as:
1. install wine package
2. double click .exe file
No wonder people love Arch so much.

Before bed, I want to tell a quick troubleshooting story:
I switched to Wayland!
But DCS: World has a weird frame flickering issue.
I try Proton, doesn't help.
I try different Wine version, doesn't help.
I try messing with DXVK, doesn't help.
It's an NVIDIA driver issue related to XWayland.
I admit defeat and go back to X11.
But: Wine can be run in native Wayland mode!
I find out how to run Wine without XWayland.
