This is cool to learn, I came to the word via Niven and I had always assumed that “futz” was, like many words out there, a workaround to say a more profane word, in this case, “fuck”.

It is always fun when somebody, when estimating something, does not round the estimation :-) From the other side, it is not that cool it means like hour and half of waiting :-(

I‘m from West Germany, I never learned Russian or even how to read Cyrillic script. But since Russia‘s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022 I must have had so much much exposure that I can now read this important message on a sign at #39C3. Learning through osmosis in times of crisis.

Friends, I'm seeing many appeals from people in desperate need in #Gaza. If you can help, and are not yet helping, please look at Gaza Verified and choose people to support.
There may be other, better ways to get help to people on the ground in Gaza, but if so I don't know of them.
There are families who have lost parents who I think are especially vulnerable.
