@kazys@mastodon.socialInteresting how Bostrom’s concerns changed. The biggest risk is mindless panic preventing development of AI. The EU is in panic, with only the US as a bulwark in AI development against the apocalyptic prospect of Russia or China getting it.

@tokeriis@mastodon.socialDen eskatologiske futorolog Nick Boström’s institut på Oxford er lukket og at han har sagt sit job op. Jeg var fascineret af hans tidlige forskning i 90’erne, hvor jeg også syntes Terningemanden og lignende var cool. Men nu synes jeg bare han indgår i mængden af AI-vrŸvlere, der understŸtter en apokalyptisk dŸdsdrift, han deler med Musk og andre ultrarige psykopater.
Derfor skuffer det mig også at han fik taletid i dagens afsnit af Flyvende Tallerken
