Listening to new devlog from Tom Francis and he mentioned two big categories he includes in all his games:
Obvious pleasures - actions that inherently feel good. Smashing enemies through windows, breaking open crates, doing a knockdown attack.
Brain food - something to figure out and keep thinking about. Puzzle mechanics, build crafting, optimization problems, inventory Tetris.
Thinking I should look for really small versions of these in games I play.

Looking at Sun3 psu parts again, it seems to me that they were designed in negative - this little daughtercard makes it pretty obvious - they've not laid down tracks - they've down the gaps and ended up with sets of lands. The whole board is only a few cm across, so I don't think anything here is taking significant power.

It only takes a very rudimentary understanding of economics to see that, in the long run, the market price of running "agentic AI" (or whatever the latest buzz becomes) and the salary of any kind of knowledge worker can only be separated by a gap that's dependent on *management's* ability to tell their output apart.
There is a cosmic-scale gap between the long-term value to a company in paying a salary to a human vs. getting an LLM to "do" the "same" work, but it's a gap that many people are investing heavily in hiding right now, and CEOs and managers become incredibly gullible when you promise them they won't have to deal with humans who might ask for raises, even though it should be obvious you plan to jack up prices once they're locked in. They also aren't well-known for a deep understanding of how their workers actually generate value, and tend to be easily distracted by shiny but shallow demos, which is exactly what LLMs can produce well.
Even in the most optimistic scenario I can imagine for these developments, the myth of upward mobility that's been a lynchpin for defusing class solidarity among wage laborers is going to take a significant beating. There's a completely obvious game plan underway to try to use fascism to shore up the power of the wealthy against any kind of mass movement, and to play the ancient divide-and-conquer game along race and gender lines just as usual, so the range of outcomes is huge, but every time you use an LLM you're pushing this closer to a sharper conflict.

Opus 5.5 efficiency jump — but only at lower effort levels. At low, medium and high effort it is 1.9–3.3× faster and 1.6–2.4× cheaper than Opus 5. Python at low effort now costs $0.38 and 35 seconds, against Opus 5's $0.75 and 117 s. At xhigh the two models are indistinguishable; at max 5.5 is 1.3× slower in Python and 1.9× slower in Go with high variability. Three Python runs at max took 1030, 1688 and 3333 seconds. I am working on trying to be less afraid of people. It’s hard.
I freak out when I get DM requests even on professional accounts where I literally ask for inquiries about certain topics, just waiting for the other shoe to drop.
And I flinch whenever anyone comes into the office bathroom while I’m there or when I’m tapped on the shoulder.
Ugh. Trauma work is hard y’all, my body is still so hyper vigilant all the time.
