New Amtrak trains coming soon to Pacific Northwest, but not in time for World Cup
Summer capacity in the region will remain limited due to a railcar shortage. New trainsets are still expected later in the year.
first new Airo train in revenue service will happen on the Amtrak Cascades line in late summer or fall.
In total, eight new trainsets, two new locomotives, & a spare cab car are coming to the Pacific Northwest. Amtrak placed a large order for new trains in 2021…

Removing the United States as
co-host of the 2026 World Cup
would hurt for pretty much everyone.
Fans would miss out on seeing the sport’s pinnacle in their home towns (or somewhere nearby).
Cities and businesses small and large would lose the financial benefits they had banked on.
It would be a logistical and political nightmare on an international scale,
the likes of which have never been seen before in sports.
It would be eminently sad.

Former Fifa president Sepp Blatter on Monday suggested he supports fans boycotting World Cup matches in the United States this year due to security concerns.
