One resident at the retirement place I work at turned 100, and at his party, my grandmother learned of a nearly 200 year old bible he inherited and only recently physically acquired, elaborately decorated with over 1,000 engravings, a map of Palestine (specifically proudly advertised on the New Testament's intro), genealogies, summaries, interpretations, and even records of the owning family's births, marriages, and deaths, written in impeccably preserved cursive. Some business advertising told me I should have a “growth mindset”. I don't like that at all. I want to be interested and interesting, caring, curious, loving, engaged, learning, teaching, kind, strong, weak, and open minded.
A “growth mindset” is what burns our planet.
It somehow is a condensed description of what is wrong with capitalism.

Interesting to compare the author Neal Stephenson's profiles on X/twitter vs. Bluesky.
He has 89,4 K followers on X, where he still posts, but just under 10 K on Bluesky, where he doesn't post at all.
