Just announced today: the world-famous art collective teamLab, founded in Tokyo in 2001, will open its first permanent U.S. museum at OCVIBE, the 100-acre sports, entertainment and arts district being built next to the Honda Center.
Why this is such a big deal:
✨ It is a brand-new exhibition created specifically for Anaheim, not a traveling version of the Tokyo museums
✨ The building itself is purpose-built and designed around the art by architecture firm smith-clementi
✨ teamLab’s only permanent museums right now are in Japan, China and Saudi Arabia. The U.S. has never had one
✨ At their Tokyo museums there is no map and no set route. The artworks wander from room to room, and at their tea house, a flower blooms inside your actual cup of tea
