Laut der Deutschen Alzheimer Gesellschaft sind derzeit rund 1,84 Millionen Menschen betroffen. Die meisten von ihnen leiden an Alzheimer und werden von Angehörigen zu Hause gepflegt. Zu welchen Belastungen das für die Pflegerinnen und Pfleger führt und welche Hilfe sie brauchen, untersucht ein Forschungsprojekt an der Uni Jena.
