I like to read histories.
I was reading a bit of history of ancient Rome and was reminded that many Roman emperors were murdered by their Praetorian guards.
This does not count Julius Caesar who died at the hands of angered Senators.
This would never happen in a modern country such as the US. (Can any of us imagine Mitch McConnell or Chuck Schumer playing the role of Brutus? "Et tu Mitch" doesn't have that resonant ring of Shakespeare's version.)
