While reading Arthur Koestler's "The Thirteenth Tribe" one could think of certain passages as likely historical fiction. After reading, and re-reading, Shlomo Sand's "The Invention of the Jewish People" I have come to the conclusion that Koestler's story is actually highly plausible.
