Out & about in the Bernina Range, on our way to the Labyrinth, surrounded by majestic 4000ers (meters)... A dream! 😍
(#ThrowbackThursday, preemptive #FootpathFriday and my personal hiking highlight of 2024)

A glacier side moraine with an almost imperceptible path on its ridge is leading into a sea of ice, rocks and snow in the not so far distance. The massive glacier is just a few dozen meters below from where the picture was taken. It flows & drops down from the peaks in the back (all ~4000m and around 1300m higher up for my position), forming a maze of large seracs on the way. Sunny day with blue sky and some wispy clouds.

Tonight's game is Stripers vs Durham Bulls (again). Last night's game was rained out. So, today is a seven inning double header (two 7 inning games). We got here just in time for the end of the first game (6th inning).

Putin musste nichts tun als warten. Nachdem Trump mit seiner Schulhof Bully Taktik gegenüber Russland natürlich nichts bewegt hat, scheint sein Friedensplan nun darin zu bestehen die Ukraine verlieren zu lassen.

Today is house meeting day for us at DMI as we find out where the state's budget cuts will land and who will be affected (i.e. made redundant).
Coincidentally, one of our #Ukraine #AntarcticScience centre colleagues has just sent us a draft deliverable report to review.
They apologise for lack of polish (it's actually really good! And very interesting science looking at climate change impacts in Antarctica) and they appended this photo of their apartment block after a visit by a Russian drone last week.
And suddenly, Danish state budget cuts seem much less worse...
And now I am going to find someone to swear at.

i wonder how much of it still exists
