Internet hive mind: are 12V BLDC fans (PC case fans etc) likely to be permanently harmed by sustained undervoltage? In particular an hour or more a day at voltages low enough that they don't spin up but make audible coil whine.

My friend Ivor just wrote this under a post advising certain mixing approaches:
“Many years ago I was mixing a track, and someone told me I should filter out everything below a certain frequency, as it was not audible. It completely destroyed the feel of the music. The frequency concerned may have been close to inaudible, but when it was there it was affecting how everything else behaved energetically in relation to one another, in ways that would be very hard to describe. That’s the b…
Time for authors to get off Audible (and ideally Amazon as well) before you'll find yourself trapped in a death spiral.
And yes, I know how hard that would hit most. But if Amazon is able to destroy competitors, nothing will stop them from exploiting you even more.

If memory is audible, does forgetting make a sound?
"Chaos Walking" on #Netflix is a really weird film. I liked it!
The premise is that on an alien planet everybody's thoughts are visible and audible to others. Exactly the kind of thing an author can invent but how would you pull it off in a movie?
It worked well! Solid VFX and nice matte paintings by a bunch of well-known studios (Rodeo, Crafty Apes, Spin) even though the …
If you listen on #audible , only use your account to:
* Buy a book with your credit. Don't listen to their plus content
Reason for this is that Audible will split the credit between the author you spent your credit to buy the book from, and all plus catalogue authors you listened to that month.

You all know those videos, which demonstrate sorting algorithms by shuffling around a random distribution of bars in different lengths. You could also assign frequencies to those bars in the audible spectrum which lets you hear the sorting algorithm. Enjoy: https://panthema.net/2013/sound-of-sorting/
This AI phone agent is playing an audible sound effect of a clackety mechanical keyboard as if someone is listening and typing.
I understand what they are trying to do, but it has the complete opposite effect on me. Whatever goon middle manager opted for this? I want them to suffer.
And the amount of typing that it pretends is ludicrously longer than the information provided. It's like an amplifier for my irritation.

Have a last minute day trip to Goulburn tomorrow. So a very long day today to get enough work done to cover while I'm away.
Now have been booked in for a tech support call on Friday afternoon for a very non-tech friend in FNQ. Could be interesting. Life is never dull.
Oh and I have virtually no voice again - I'm not sick, just a bit drained of energy, and very very squeaky. So much so that, at times, my voice must only be audible to bats. Hopefully my prodigal voice wil…
While all things are subject to becoming, sound plays a special role in making time audible. It arguably manifests the elemental flux that is reality more fully and more palpably than any other phenomenon, and reveals time in all its heterogeneous becoming. The art of sound bears witness to and is the art of unleashing, cutting, and shaping this flow - temporal or nothing at all - forever manifesting the passage, the relentless becoming-other that is time.
I still love how something as totally basic as slowing down sound can reveal textures, harmonics, & microstructures that would otherwise be missed. A fleeting impact unfolds into something spatial, musical, & emotionally resonant. High overtones drop into the audible range, transients dissolve into evolving timbres, & the familiar becomes beautifully uncanny. In slowing sound, we don’t just decelerate it; we uncover its inner architecture - its grain, its buried melodies.
