Don’t get me wrong - while using the fountain pen I am still trying to maintain good writing posture and I’m continuing to do my regular hand stretches.
But for a sense of the difference: before, I was happy with the fact that I managed to develop a good pain management routine to allow me to write like 2-3 pages at a time without convulsing in pain.
And now I can write 6 pages nonstop without even thinking or feeling anything. A short 5–10 minute rest and I can come back for more.
This is such a big deal to me. I was able to draw yesterday with a relaxed hand after spending hours writing notes. Before I’d only be able to do one or the other in a day!
And then I finished the evening by writing out a chapter of my novel by hand.
And today my hand is totally fine!!

I’ve never had proper back pain in my life, but today? Ugh 😩

I laughed. I cried. I cheered. I talked back to the audio book.
I had chronic pain in middle school for months and months from IBS, an ovarian cyst, and never actually fully answered causes. I know what it is to rely on doctors who said your pain was all in your head 'cause if it was real, they'd have diagnosed and fixed it already.
I also love cats. And horror with a queer twist.
So, of course, I loved The Scald-Crow by Grace Daly.

I hate trying to work with OS/2. I'm told this worked on IBM systems, but it's a pain in the ass on anything else. Right now, it can see the drive, crate partitions, but not volumes. And it needs volumes to install.
I'm at the point where I be happy if it nuked my two windows installs (because I can put those back) if it would just install itself....

Back and leg pain was terrible from around 4am to 11am but I managed to get moving after that and doing some kitchen work helps distract me from the pain... I still feel a little dizzy, but whatever.
So I am attempting a "tavern style" pizza today, the "other" Chicago style, a thin, cracker crust. (Also St. Louis or Milwaukee style to some folks.)
I'll report back on my results after lunch, unless I fall asleep again from the medication.

Power back here, but not before we got to make cheese toasties by candlelight.
Occasional electrical flickers still, which results in frequent oven-clock-resetting, with the usual pleasure/pain of trying to get it to sync with the microwave...

the good news is yesterday i got half of our giant hedge trimmed before the battery died on the trimmer (seems to be a theme)
the bad news is, just before the battery died, my back tweaked.
I took some relaxants and it was ok last night, but this morning the muscles are very guarded. Full up on Tylenol back pain and Advil.

Morning all! Heading out to run a workshop on emotions and emotional regulation this morning. One of my favourite topics.
Then *finally* getting to see the physio about my nagging back pain. And yes, emotions are relevant there too! 🤣

I used to work in an industry that was very interesting to me, and involved a lot of creativity, but as time went on and the company I was at changed I felt I no longer fit there, doing the sort of work they were pursuing with the people who ran things, so I found a way out.
That "way out" caused me a lot of pain and heartache, and set me back financially for a decade, but I'm still glad I got out because I cannot imagine what life would have been for me if I just stayed.…

Whats the latest (and in the easy) vulnerability scanner? I used to use Nessus back in the day, then OpenVAS was always a pain to get working. I haven't scanned anything in a few years so not sure whats in that "easy to use, decent output" category.
