For my weekend reading, I’ve started @…’s new book The Reverse Centaur’s Guide to Life After AI.
(I haven’t actually read any of his books before so I’m looking forward to finishing this and maybe picking up Enshittification next.)

It was a plan House G.O.P. leaders hoped would satisfy everyone in their party:
With a special budget bill, they would bypass Democratic opposition and provide tens of billions for the Iran war while imposing new election restrictions Trump has demanded.
Instead, a day after the leaders released the plan, which hews closely to a spending request the White House sent to Capitol Hill last month,
it became clear it is a product that no one really likes.
The measure, whic…

“The IDF listens to all Gazan phones, so they know where people are and whether children are home. They know who’s in an apartment just before the missiles hit, and they hear the screams after the explosions. They even coined a phrase – ‘Where’s Daddy?’ – to describe listening in on a child’s phone, determining when their father will be home, and then sending a missile to kill them all. As one solider matter-of-factly says about a 12-year-old, ‘You hack her phone, and then you kill her.’”
