I've been working on assembling my one-kilogram QSO¹ kit. I set a 1kg limit including the case into which to cram everything I need to work POTA on a whim because it's just bouncing around in the bottom of my backpack. I'm still working out what to carry for filter, choke, and ununs; after I'm done, I'll write up the whole kit with pictures.

Since we had temperatures of -15/-13℃ (5℉) the past few nights, I was planning to go on an early morning shoot of one of my favorite waterfalls, but decided against it due to severe black ice warnings and likely ensuing road chaos today... Hope there will be more cold nights this winter...

So I saw a new primary care doctor yesterday, had a really good in-person experience there.
I looked at the visit notes in the patient portal and it mentions (all the way at the bottom) that it uses some AI tool to generate the notes.
At least 10% of it is pure fabrication and never happened.

My road bike has a BB30 (press-fit) bottom bracket. Yesterday I noticed it was creaking, so I pulled out my $50 BB30 removal tool, refreshed my memory on how to remove a bottom bracket with a bit of YouTube, pulled the thing apart, cleaned and greased everything, put it back together, and now it doesn’t creak. Time to investigate my dad's turntable; a Pioneer PL-15R; so at 33.33RPM, and with a disk with 64 edges, that should be 33.33/60*64=35.6Hz - so seeing 35.7Hz off my hacky photodiode sensor makes me very happy; although it's varying a little, but my scopes frequency counter is based off it's display, so hmm. And it's FFT won't go down that low really.

I just found out by accident that there's a control *hidden* at the Apple logo at the bottom of Apple Music to switch to full screen or the mini player!

I bought a pair of 25' Intellitron stainless steel whip antennas from GigaParts while they were on sale ("two is one and one is none" and the second one tipped me me into "free shipping" making its marginal cost pretty low). On removing them from the packages, however, loose roll pins fell out, and the bases fell off the antennas. Both of them.

Obviously, in 1960, my father's pre-war Exakta camera did not have GPS. Could you identify, from that picture, exactly where it was taken?

So, just verified that my retirement funds are safe because holy crap these got more expensive than I thought they did. The bottom two are LG WH14NS40 drives that have been upgraded to LG WH16NS60 drives. The platform is the exact same for both models which means a firmware upgrade unlocks a ton of stuff.
