The collapse of a critical Atlantic current can no longer be considered a low-likelihood event, a study has concluded,
making deep cuts to fossil fuel emissions even more urgent to avoid the catastrophic impact.
The Atlantic meridional overturning circulation ( #Amoc ) is a major part of the global climate system.
It brings sun-warmed tropical water to Europe and the Arctic, where it cools a…

"The Fed sees elevated consumer prices and increased inflation ahead as the trade war intensifies. Prior to Trump, the average tariff on stuff coming into America was 2.3%. Now it’s topped 17%, which is the highest since 1934 (a year of intense misery and suffering). Given the ‘deals’ Trump has just made, that rate is set to crest above 19% – the stiffest since 1906. That’s when this guy was president. Nice stash. "

The image is a sepia-toned portrait of a man dressed in formal attire. He is wearing a dark suit with a notched lapel, a white shirt with a dotted pattern, and a patterned tie. The man has a mustache and is wearing round glasses with a thin wire frame. His hair is slicked back, and he has a serious expression on his face. The background is plain and neutral, focusing attention on the subject. The overall style of the image suggests it is from the early 20th century.

Cowboys' Micah Parsons trade rumors to Packers gaining 'buzz,' says Green Bay reporter sportingnews.com/us/nfl/green-

Gamma ray bursts (GRBs)
are singular outbursts of high-energy radiation
with durations typically lasting from milliseconds to minutes
and, in extreme cases, a few hours.
They are attributed to the catastrophic outcomes of stellar-scale events
and, as such, are not expected to recur.
Here, we present observations of the exceptional GRB 250702B (formerly GRB 250702BDE)
which triggered the Fermi GRB monitor on three occasions over several hours,

Well said... "The most important thing about AI isn't its technical capabilities or limitations. The most important thing is the investor story and the ensuing mania that has teed up an economical catastrophe that will harm hundreds of millions or even billions of people. AI isn't going to wake up, become superintelligent and turn you into paperclips – but rich people with AI investor psychosis are almost certainly going to make you much, much poorer."
