The LHCb experiment at CERN’s Large Hadron Collider (LHC) has discovered a new particle consisting of two charm quarks and one down quark,

While I adore The Shining movie, I also love the 1997 mini-series as it captures the book so well. The miniseries is cheesy and 90s, but it has a charm to it.

Just a little one and a half hour walk nearby before it was supposed to be raining (and rugby starts).
It was a nice walk and good to be out. Strangely, my old GPS device refused to get a location despite having lots of satellites. Just 10min before coming back (after a couple of restarts and taking the batteries out and back in) it worked.
Fortunately, I only had it with me to test if my heart rate monitor also connects to it.

Of course, this really has nothing to do with me at all - they're all super impressive scholars and I didn't "supervise" anything (how does one supervise a humanities postdoc, anyway?). Still, maybe I'm a good luck charm?

PriceGhost is a service that you can run on your server to check the prices of products on Amazon, Aliexpress, etc. at the frequency you select. In addition, if you create a Telegram bot, you can configure it to send you notifications in case of price changes. This way, you don't have to constantly check the price either in the online store or on the PriceGhost web interface.
At the moment, it is running in a Docker container on my home server and works like a charm.

Today I spend nearly 13 hours and ~1600km on two trains to get from Berlin via Strasbourg to Marseille. It worked like a charm, was rather comfortable (due to me sitting in first class) and not that expensive (212€).

I am still actively using the original programme that I wrote in 1985 to manage my comic collection. It is written in dBASE III syntax and compiled with Clipper on a state-of-the art Commodore PC20 with Intel 8088 (4,77 MHz, 16-Bit-architecture) CPU, 256 kB RAM, and 10 MB hard drive (fancy stuff, back then). Today, over 40 years later, the user interface may look a tiny bit outdated, but everything still works like a charm.

My #silentsunday photo from a recent hike where I indeed saw the first little blossoms! I was so surprised to see them!
On the one side I was a bit sad as this means that winter is coming to an end and I did have far less winter hikes than wished. On the other side: spring is all around! Colors, more hiking routes, mountainbiking, ... all this is waiting 🙂

Last photo from a week ago when temperatures were high and we enjoyed some time out.
When I look at the photo I notice that ... "times" ago I didn't like the brown grass after winter as I was missing the vivid green.
That day however I didn't even think about it. Maybe becuase of the sun ... or the nice contrast of these heather like flowers? Anyways - it's been a great day out there.

My #silentsunday photo is from last week, where it was about 15°C warmer.
Anyways - to me, a silent sunday means to relax, no rush, seeing the little flowers near the trail. Taking the time to knee down and take a photo - just for the sake of capturing a silent moment.
