Side note: Columbo, like some other old TV shows, is available in HD because originally it was all shot on and cut on film.
Even special effects were done on film; it looks fantastic on a big TV.

We were having a discussion about the origin of the "Enhance!" trope (when someone in a movie or TV show zooms in on a photo or video still and it stays amazingly high resolution), the first instance I can think of is in Columbo season 4, episode 5 ("Playback") from 1975.

It's a running gag that my wife is like Columbo's wife on 𝐶𝑜𝑙𝑢𝑚𝑏𝑜 [1] because she's always getting mentioned on my socials but she never shows up.. here she is, in the garden she maintains in front of the barn
