how should #CreativeCommons respond to the use of CC-licensed work in #AItraining?
"In 2023, the theme of the CC Global Summit was AI and the Commons, focused on supporting better sharing in a world with artificial intelligence."
There were 3 opinion groups that resulted from…

Polish translations of Creative Commons licenses look so awful it feels like I'm linking to some scam site.
Back in 2014 they supported Polish diacritics and the writing style for a license summary sounded way better than the current version.

Yeah, you're really gonna see which companies are just gonna allow the AI to scrape all their stuff now. I'm a copyleft/creative commons kinda guy. But if you have art that you don't want stolen, the answer is simple.
MAKE YOUR OWN WEBSITE and put your art there (edit: and use that Glaze type of stuff on your art that wrecks AI, just to be sure)! Neocities is SO easy to set up! Or your own domain and hosting via porkbun, GoDaddy (non-WordPress) - anything at all other than …

ALMA, as part of the Event Horizon Telescope, is unveiling a new image of our Milky Way's supermassive black hole, Sagittarius A*, in which strong magnetic fields can be seen…
The most exciting part is that this hints to a jet that would be hidden from our vantage point in our galaxy… but imagine that! We might be like M87, just at a smaller scale!

Event Horizon Telescope image of Sag A*, the supermassive black hole at the center of the Milky Way galaxy.

The background is mostly black, but a kind of hairy, slightly squashed donut shape in orange can be seen. The central blackness is the shadow of the Sag A*.

The hairy aspect comes from visualising the strength of the magnetic field.
Messier object 87 by Hubble space telescope.
This is the galactic core shown as a composite image of visible and infrared observations in order to resolve the blue jet.
The field of view is about 1.5 arc minutes across, the jet extends to about a third of an arc minute (or 20 arc seconds) with a width of about 2 arc seconds (absolute length 5 kly at a distance of 53 Mly).

“No backup, no plan for succession, nothing. The thing that alarms me about the situation is that no one found this alarming at the time. This kind of scenario is so normalized that downstream projects didn't even notice it.”

Das #HappyGoLucky ist weg. #Berlin ist nicht mehr. Wir brauchen eine neue #Hauptstadt.

Apple co-founder and former CEO #Steve #Jobs was born on February 24, 1955, so today would have marked his 69th birthday had he not passed away in 2011 at the age of 56.
