Today is the 40th anniversary of the Air India Flight 182 bombing that departed Vancouver, Toronto, Montreal and exploded off the coast of Ireland.
Many lives stolen - never forgotten. We still grieve. We still love.
My best friend and her family were on that plane. She was 11.

Not a JS expert, but if you ignore `<dialog>` (via `.showModal()`) to roll your own modal, I feel a different selector for interactive elements is better than repeating `.filter()` (comment link):

This weekend I listened to the 'How to Age Up' podcast on climate change. A lot of good observations for how parents can help their children process the daily news cycle and manage their anxiety about the future.
Turns out one effective strategy is one I keep hearing from so many different sources - you build community. Building community makes communities more resilient. Building community makes you feel less alone - so you can help do the work to combat climate change/racism/…

"“Make Our Children Healthy Again Strategy” has plenty of phrases like “task force,” “initiative,” “framework,” “collaboration,” and “harmonizing authorization processes,” but it repeatedly pleas for “more research” on chemicals and toxins that are already accepted by the wider medical community a dangerous."

Update - I think I managed to come to a compromise on timeline and firmly established that no AI will be used for this project.
They agreed, although they did make say that “it’s as if you decided to dig up a garden using a shovel instead of a tractor. As long as it’s done, it’s done”
I don’t wanna pick a fight so I left the comment alone but now that I think of it I have two responses:
- who digs a garden with a tractor?
- last I checked tractor didn’t have a ~30% chance of lying about the dirt they did or up to 70% odds of just giving up on working if the ground was too hard to dig
