By the way "coffee" is the answer to the "export" question in the interview. Coffee is a major source of revenue for the regime as it centralizes power and dismantles the federal tribal system.
I know this because during the genocide in Tigray, a Tigrayan friend of mine asked me to spread the word so folks could boycott Ethiopian coffee to try and apply pressure to end the genocide.

Laura K was surprised to hear that they aren't in fact all feckless layouts but nearly 90% of them would prefer to do some work for a wage really if only they could find someone willing to do the swap.
