Boundary Energy-Momentum Tensors for Asymptotically Flat Spacetimes
We consider 3D and 4D asymptotically flat spacetimes near future null infinity endowed with the most general allowed Carroll geometry. We define a boundary energy-momentum tensor by varying the on-shell action with respect to the Carroll metric data. This requires adding counterterms to the Einstein-Hilbert action. Braid stability for periodic orbits of area-preserving surface diffeomorphisms
We consider an area-preserving diffeomorphism of a compact surface, which is assumed to be an irrational rotation near each boundary component. A finite set of periodic orbits of the diffeomorphism gives rise to a braid in the mapping torus. We show that under some nondegeneracy hypotheses, the isotopy classes of braids that arise from finite sets of periodic orbits are stable under Hamiltonian perturbations that are small with respect to the Hofer metric. Edge modes of tetrad gravity: Unlike diffeomorphisms, all shifts are integrable
We present an improved notion of internal tetrad shifts in 4 dimensions which is always integrable in the presence of corners. This allows us to study the fully extended corner symmetry algebra of gauge charges, which is a deformation of $ISO(1,3)^S$ involving spacetime curvature. We argue this implies corner noncommutativity of the spin connection $ω$. The latter in particular hints that an extended BF theory might be a better way understand the dynamics of tetrad gravity.
